Ofloxacin 600mg is used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria in different parts of the body.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia
• Urinary tract infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Infections of the prostate gland
• Certain sexually transmitted infections
• Infections of the abdomen when combined with other antibiotics

HOW IT WORKS

• It belongs to the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics
• It blocks bacterial enzymes needed for DNA replication and repair
• This stops bacteria from multiplying and eventually kills them

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It does not work against viral infections like cold, flu or COVID-19
• It is not a painkiller and does not treat fever alone
• It should not be used for infections it is not prescribed for, as this can lead to resistance
• It is not recommended for routine or minor infections that can be treated with safer antibiotics

How to Use ZANOCIN OD 600MG TABLET (OFLOXACIN 600MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice a day
• Swallow the tablet with a full glass of water
• It can be taken with or without food, but try to be consistent
• Do not take with antacids, calcium, iron or zinc supplements at the same time; leave a gap of a few hours
• Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine
• Complete the full course even if you feel better, unless your doctor tells you to stop

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
