This combination medicine is mainly used to control high blood pressure in adults who do not respond adequately to a single medicine.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating high blood pressure (hypertension)
- Reducing the risk of stroke in people with high blood pressure and thickened heart muscle
- Used when a single blood pressure medicine is not enough to control levels
HOW IT WORKS
- Losartan blocks a chemical called angiotensin II, which causes blood vessels to relax and widen
- Chlorthalidone is a diuretic (water pill) that helps kidneys remove excess salt and water, lowering blood volume
- Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either medicine alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not a painkiller or fever medicine
- Not for emergency lowering of dangerously high blood pressure
- Not meant for occasional or as-needed use; it must be taken regularly as directed
- Not a cure for hypertension; it only controls it while taken regularly

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Tiredness or weakness

- Very little or no urination
- Signs of high potassium or low potassium such as muscle weakness, tingling, or confusion
- Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
- Severe muscle pain or weakness

How to Use ZILOS-H TABLET (Losartan 50mg + Chlorthalidone 12.5mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
- Can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time each day
- Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Continue taking it even if you feel well, as blood pressure control needs regular use
- Do not stop suddenly without talking to your doctor
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your normal schedule
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep in the original blister pack or container until ready to use
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
