Uses and Benefits of ZOCON 200MG TABLET (Fluconazole 200mg)

Fluconazole 200mg is mainly used to treat infections caused by fungus, including vaginal, oral, throat, and systemic fungal infections.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Vaginal yeast infections (candidiasis)
• Oral and throat fungal infections (thrush)
• Fungal infections of the skin, nails, and urinary tract
• Systemic fungal infections such as cryptococcal meningitis
• Prevention of fungal infections in people with weak immunity, such as those on chemotherapy or with HIV

HOW IT WORKS

• Fluconazole blocks an enzyme that fungi need to build their cell membrane
• This weakens the fungal cell wall and stops the fungus from growing and spreading
• It helps the body's own immune system clear the remaining infection

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It does not treat bacterial infections such as throat infections caused by bacteria
• It does not work against viral infections like cold, flu, or COVID-19
• It is not a treatment for general itching or rashes not caused by fungus

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor
• It can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
• Do not stop the course early even if you feel better, unless your doctor tells you to
• Try to take it at the same time each day for a single-dose or short course as advised

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• If your treatment is a single dose, this may not apply, but follow your doctor's instructions
• For a multi-dose course, take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as scheduled
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE
