Uses and Benefits of ZOCON-AS KIT (Fluconazole + Azithromycin + Secnidazole)

This combination is mainly used to treat mixed genital infections in men and women where fungal, bacterial, and protozoal organisms may be involved together, such as vaginitis, cervicitis, or urethritis with mixed causes.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Vaginal infections caused by yeast, bacteria, and protozoa together
• Sexually transmitted infections with mixed organisms
• Non-specific vaginal discharge with suspected mixed infection
• Genital infections in male partners of infected women

HOW IT WORKS

• Fluconazole kills or stops growth of fungus, especially Candida
• Azithromycin stops bacteria from multiplying by blocking their protein production
• Secnidazole kills protozoa and certain anaerobic bacteria by damaging their DNA

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Common cold, flu, or viral fever
• Simple urinary infections without mixed organisms
• Skin fungal infections (separate antifungal creams are used for that)
• Prevention of infection without doctor's advice

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Nausea or stomach upset
• Diarrhoea or loose stools
• Headache
• Metallic or bitter taste in mouth
• Mild abdominal pain

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Dizziness
• Vomiting
• Loss of appetite
• Vaginal itching or discharge change
• Skin rash

• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Severe skin rash, blistering, or peeling
• Difficulty breathing, swelling of face, lips, or throat
• Severe or watery diarrhoea, especially with blood
• Irregular heartbeat or palpitations
• Severe dizziness or fainting

How to Use ZOCON-AS KIT (Fluconazole + Azithromycin + Secnidazole)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually as a single combined dose
• Can be taken with or without food, but taking after food may reduce stomach upset
• Swallow tablets whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Complete the full course even if you feel better, unless your doctor says otherwise
• Avoid alcohol during and for a few days after treatment

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Since this is often a single-dose treatment, missing it usually means the treatment is incomplete — contact your doctor for guidance
• If it is part of a multi-dose course, take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one
• Ask your pharmacist if unsure what to do

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Do not store in the bathroom or near a sink

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to fluconazole, azithromycin, secnidazole, or related drugs
• Have severe liver disease
• Have a known heart rhythm problem (QT prolongation)
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless your doctor specifically advises it
