Uses and Benefits of ZOCON-T KIT TABLET (Fluconazole 150mg + Tinidazole 1000mg)
This combination is mainly used for treating mixed infections of the vagina or reproductive tract that involve both fungal and bacterial/parasitic organisms.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Vaginal yeast infections (candidiasis) combined with bacterial vaginosis or protozoal infection
- Mixed genital infections causing itching, discharge, and odour
- Sometimes used after gynaecological procedures to prevent infection
HOW IT WORKS
- Fluconazole kills fungus by damaging its cell membrane, stopping its growth
- Tinidazole kills certain bacteria and protozoa by damaging their DNA, preventing them from multiplying
- Together they cover both fungal and bacterial/protozoal causes of infection in one treatment
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not for viral infections like cold or flu
- Not for skin fungal infections alone (other creams/tablets are preferred)
- Not a treatment for sexually transmitted infections unless specifically advised
- Not to be used as a general antibiotic for unrelated infections

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

- Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
- Severe skin reaction with blistering or peeling
- Difficulty breathing, swelling of face/lips/throat (allergic reaction)
- Seizures or severe confusion
- Dark coloured urine or unusual tiredness (signs of liver problems)
- Numbness or tingling in hands or feet

How to Use ZOCON-T KIT TABLET (Fluconazole 150mg + Tinidazole 1000mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually as a single dose
- Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Can be taken with or without food, but taking with food may reduce stomach upset
- Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 3 days after, as it can cause severe reactions with Tinidazole
- Complete the full course even if symptoms improve quickly
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Since this is often a single-dose treatment, contact your doctor if you missed or vomited the dose
- If it is part of a longer course, take the missed dose as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as scheduled
- Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to Fluconazole, Tinidazole, or similar antifungal/antiprotozoal medicines
- Have severe liver disease
- Are in the first trimester of pregnancy
- Have a known blood disorder affecting white blood cells
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- Have liver or kidney disease
- Have a heart rhythm problem (like long QT syndrome)
- Are taking blood thinners or other regular medicines
- Have a history of seizures or nerve problems
MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Warfarin and other blood thinners (increased bleeding risk)
- Certain drugs for heart rhythm problems
- Phenytoin, cyclosporine, and other liver-metabolised drugs
- Alcohol (can cause severe reaction with Tinidazole)
- Other medicines that affect liver enzymes
