Uses and Benefits of ZOSTA 20MG TABLET (SIMVASTATIN 20 MG)

This medicine is used to treat high cholesterol and to reduce the risk of heart-related problems in people with or at risk of heart disease.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Lowering high LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides
• Raising HDL (good) cholesterol in some cases
• Reducing risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular events
• Managing cholesterol along with diet and lifestyle changes

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks an enzyme in the liver called HMG-CoA reductase that is needed to make cholesterol
• Lowers the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver
• Helps the liver remove cholesterol already present in the blood
• Works gradually over several weeks to show full effect

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not a painkiller or immediate treatment for chest pain

• Signs of allergic reaction such as swelling of face/lips/throat, difficulty breathing, or severe rash
• Persistent nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain

How to Use ZOSTA 20MG TABLET (SIMVASTATIN 20 MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily in the evening
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Avoid grapefruit juice as it can increase side effects
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as cholesterol control needs long-term use

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
