This medicine is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, usually along with diet control and exercise.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Controlling high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes
- Used when diet, exercise and a single diabetes medicine are not enough to control blood sugar
- Often given as an add-on therapy along with lifestyle changes
HOW IT WORKS
- Remogliflozin blocks a kidney protein (SGLT2) so extra sugar is passed out in urine
- Metformin reduces the amount of sugar made by the liver
- Metformin also helps body cells use insulin more effectively
- Together they lower blood sugar through two different actions
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for type 1 diabetes
- Not used for diabetic ketoacidosis
- Not a treatment for weight loss on its own

- Allergic reaction: rash, swelling of face or throat, difficulty breathing

HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with meals to reduce stomach upset
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless your doctor says so
- Take it at the same time(s) each day for best results
- Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as diabetes needs long-term control
