WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Long-term prevention of gout attacks
• Treatment of high uric acid levels (hyperuricemia)
• Preventing uric acid build-up during chemotherapy or radiotherapy

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks an enzyme called xanthine oxidase
• This enzyme is needed to make uric acid in the body

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor
• Usually taken once daily, after food, with a full glass of water

• Do not stop taking it even if you feel well, unless your doctor advises
• Continue taking it during a gout attack unless your doctor tells you otherwise

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE
