Uses and Benefits of ALTHROCIN KID TABLET (Erythromycin 125mg)
Erythromycin 125mg is used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Ear, nose, and throat infections
- Whooping cough and certain sexually transmitted infections
- As an alternative for people allergic to penicillin
HOW IT WORKS
- Erythromycin belongs to a class of antibiotics called macrolides
- It stops bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow and multiply
- This helps the body's immune system clear the infection
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It does not work against viral infections such as common cold or flu
- It is not effective for infections caused by bacteria resistant to macrolides
- It should not be used to prevent infections unless specifically advised by a doctor
- It is not a painkiller or fever reducer on its own

How to Use ALTHROCIN KID TABLET (Erythromycin 125mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor
- Swallow the tablet or capsule with a glass of water
- Can be taken with or without food, but taking with food may reduce stomach upset
- Complete the full course even if you feel better before finishing it
- Take at evenly spaced times each day as advised
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
- If using liquid suspension, check label for whether refrigeration is needed
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
