This medicine is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, usually along with diet and exercise.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Controlling high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes

HOW IT WORKS

• Signs of ketoacidosis such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, tiredness, and trouble breathing (can occur even with normal sugar levels)
• Signs of low blood sugar such as shakiness, sweating, confusion when combined with other diabetes medicines
• Severe urinary or genital infection with fever or pain
• Signs of lactic acidosis such as unusual muscle pain, difficulty breathing, extreme tiredness
• Signs of kidney problems such as reduced urination or swelling
• Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips, or difficulty breathing

HOW TO TAKE IT
