Uses and Benefits of DUOLIN Rotocap (Ipratropium Bromide 40mcg + Levosalbutamol 100mcg)
This combination is used mainly to treat breathing problems caused by narrowed or blocked airways.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Relief of wheezing, breathlessness and chest tightness in asthma
- Management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Quick relief during sudden episodes of breathing difficulty
- As an add-on therapy along with other inhaled medicines
HOW IT WORKS
- Levosalbutamol relaxes the muscles of the airways (bronchodilator) quickly
- Ipratropium blocks certain nerve signals that cause airway muscles to tighten
- Together they open up the airways more effectively than either alone
- This makes breathing easier within a short time of use
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not a cure for asthma or COPD, only controls symptoms
- Not meant for long-term prevention of attacks on its own
- Not used for cough or cold without breathing difficulty
- Not a treatment for chest infections or pneumonia
- Not for children unless specifically advised by a pediatrician
