Uses and Benefits of DUONASE NASAL SPRAY (Fluticasone Propionate 50mcg + Azelastine 140mcg)
This combination nasal spray is used to treat symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose, blocked nose, and itching caused by seasonal or year-round allergies.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Relief of sneezing, nasal itching, runny nose and nasal congestion caused by allergies
- Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever)
- Year-round (perennial) allergic rhinitis when symptoms are moderate to severe
HOW IT WORKS
- Fluticasone is a steroid that reduces swelling, redness and inflammation inside the nose
- Azelastine is an antihistamine that blocks histamine, the chemical responsible for allergy symptoms
- Together they act faster and more effectively than using either medicine alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Common cold or viral infections
- Nasal congestion caused by sinus infections without allergy
- Immediate relief of a sudden severe allergic reaction (this is not a rescue medicine)
- Long-term use without medical supervision for unrelated nasal problems

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

- Severe dizziness or fainting

How to Use DUONASE NASAL SPRAY (Fluticasone Propionate 50mcg + Azelastine 140mcg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Use only in the nose, exactly as prescribed by your doctor
- Shake the bottle gently before use and clear your nose before spraying
- Tilt your head slightly forward, insert the nozzle into one nostril, and spray while breathing in gently
- Avoid spraying directly onto the nasal septum (the wall between nostrils)
- Do not blow your nose immediately after spraying
- Wash your hands after use and wipe the nozzle clean
- Use regularly for the full period advised, even if you feel better, for best results
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not use a double dose to make up for a missed one

- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep the cap tightly closed when not in use
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to fluticasone, azelastine, or any other ingredient in this spray
- Have a recent nasal injury or nasal surgery that has not healed
- Have an untreated nasal or sinus infection
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Have glaucoma or eye problems
- Have had recent nasal ulcers, surgery or injury
- Have tuberculosis or any untreated infection
- Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- Are already using other steroid medicines (tablets, inhalers, creams)
- Have liver disease
MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Other nasal or inhaled steroid medicines
- Sedating medicines or alcohol, as azelastine may increase drowsiness
- Antifungal or HIV medicines that affect steroid metabolism (ask your doctor before combining)
