Uses and Benefits of FOSIROL POWDER (FOSFOMYCIN 3.0G)
Fosfomycin 3.0g is commonly prescribed for uncomplicated urinary tract infections, especially bladder infections (cystitis) in women.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTI)
- Bladder infections caused by susceptible bacteria such as E. coli
- Sometimes used before certain urological procedures as advised by the doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks an enzyme bacteria need to build their outer cell wall
- Without a proper cell wall, the bacteria cannot survive and die off
- A single dose reaches high concentration in urine, allowing short-course treatment
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for viral infections like cold or flu
- Not first choice for complicated or upper urinary tract infections (kidney infections) unless specifically prescribed
- Not meant for long-term or repeated use without medical supervision
- Not effective against infections caused by bacteria resistant to fosfomycin

How to Use FOSIROL POWDER (FOSFOMYCIN 3.0G)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually as a single dose
- Dissolve the full sachet contents in a glass of water, do not take it in dry form
- Take on an empty stomach, ideally 2-3 hours before or after a meal
- It is best taken at bedtime after urinating, to allow the medicine to stay longer in the bladder
- Complete the course exactly as directed even if symptoms improve quickly
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Since this is usually a single-dose treatment, contact your doctor if you missed taking it as instructed
- Do not take an extra dose on your own
- If symptoms persist after the dose, consult your doctor rather than repeating the medicine yourself

- Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
- Keep the sachet dry and in its original packaging until ready to use
- Keep out of reach and sight of children
