Uses and Benefits of KENACORT 0.001 ORAL PASTE (TRIAMCINOLONE (0.1% W/W))

Triamcinolone 0.1% w/w is used to treat inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis and allergic skin reactions that cause redness, itching and swelling.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Relieving itching, redness and swelling from eczema and dermatitis
• Managing psoriasis patches on the skin
• Treating allergic skin reactions and rashes
• Reducing inflammation from insect bites or minor skin irritations

HOW IT WORKS

• It is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation by acting on skin cells
• It suppresses the local immune response that causes redness and swelling
• It helps relieve itching by calming irritated skin

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not used to treat bacterial, viral or fungal skin infections on its own
• It is not meant for acne treatment
• It is not for use on open wounds or ulcers unless advised by a doctor

• Increased hair growth on treated skin
• Acne-like eruptions

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Signs of skin infection such as pus, increased redness or swelling
• Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips or throat
• Stretch marks or visible thinning/fragility of skin
• Blurred vision if cream accidentally gets into eyes
• Signs of absorption into the body such as unusual weight gain or weakness with long-term extensive use

How to Use KENACORT 0.001 ORAL PASTE (TRIAMCINOLONE (0.1% W/W))

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Wash and dry the affected area before applying
• Apply a thin layer of the cream/ointment as advised by your doctor
• Gently rub it in until it is absorbed
• Wash your hands after application unless the hands are the treated area
• Do not cover the treated area with a bandage unless your doctor tells you to
• Use only on the skin area advised; avoid contact with eyes, mouth and open wounds
• Do not use more often or for longer than prescribed

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed one
• Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep the tube tightly closed
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
