Fluconazole 150mg is commonly used to treat fungal infections caused by yeast (Candida) and other fungi.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Vaginal yeast infections (candidiasis)
• Oral thrush and thrush of the throat
• Fungal infections of the skin and nails
• Systemic fungal infections in certain patients
• Prevention of fungal infections in people with weak immunity

HOW IT WORKS

• Fluconazole belongs to a group of medicines called azole antifungals
• It blocks an enzyme that fungi need to build their cell membrane
• This stops the fungus from growing and spreading, allowing the body to clear the infection

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It does not treat bacterial infections
• It does not treat viral infections such as cold or flu

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
• Do not stop the course early even if you feel better, unless advised
• Complete the full course as advised for the infection to clear properly

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• If it is a single-dose treatment, contact your doctor for guidance
• If on a longer course, take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
