Uses and Benefits of TELLZY CH 40 TABLET (Telmisartan 40mg + Chlortalidone 12.5mg)
This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure in adults, especially when a single medicine alone is not enough to control it.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Managing high blood pressure (hypertension)
- Reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems linked to long-term high blood pressure
HOW IT WORKS
- Telmisartan blocks a hormone called angiotensin II, which causes blood vessels to relax and widen, lowering pressure
- Chlortalidone is a diuretic (water pill) that makes the kidneys pass out extra salt and water, reducing fluid volume in blood vessels
- Together they give a stronger blood pressure-lowering effect than either medicine alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a painkiller and does not treat headaches or body pain
- It is not meant for emergency lowering of dangerously high blood pressure
- It does not treat infections
- It is not a first-choice medicine for pregnant women or for initial treatment before trying single medicines, unless your doctor decides otherwise
