Topiramate is mainly used to treat epilepsy (seizures) and to prevent migraine attacks.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Control of partial and generalized seizures in epilepsy
• Used alone or with other anti-epileptic medicines
• Prevention of migraine headaches in adults

HOW IT WORKS

• Reduces abnormal electrical activity in the brain
• Blocks certain nerve signal pathways that cause seizures

How to Use TOPAZ 100 TABLET (Topiramate 100mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow tablets whole with water; do not crush unless advised
• Drink plenty of water during the day to reduce risk of kidney stones
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this may trigger seizures

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
• If you miss doses often, discuss with your doctor about how to manage epilepsy control

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from heat and moisture
• Keep away from direct sunlight
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
