This medicine combination is used mainly to control high blood pressure in adults, especially when a single medicine is not enough to keep blood pressure controlled.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Used when treatment with a single blood pressure medicine does not give adequate control
• Helps reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems linked to long-term high blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Olmesartan blocks a hormone (angiotensin II) that tightens blood vessels, allowing them to relax and widen
• Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water from the body
• Together they lower blood pressure through two different, complementary actions

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for immediate relief of a sudden severe rise in blood pressure (hypertensive emergency)
• Not a painkiller or fever medicine
• Not used for treating infections
• Not recommended for use during pregnancy

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing (allergic reaction)
• Severe dizziness, fainting or very low blood pressure
• Signs of kidney problems such as reduced urination or swelling in legs
• Severe diarrhoea, vomiting or signs of dehydration
• Muscle weakness, irregular heartbeat, or confusion (possible electrolyte imbalance)
• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)

How to Use WINBP CT 40-6.25MG (OLMESARTAN MEDOXOMIL (40MG) + CHLORTHALIDONE (6.25MG))

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time every day
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop taking it suddenly even if you feel well, as blood pressure may rise again
• Continue regular blood pressure checks and follow-up as advised by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original pack until it is time to take the medicine
• Keep out of reach and sight of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are pregnant or planning pregnancy
• Are allergic to olmesartan, chlorthalidone, or other sulfonamide-derived medicines
• Have severe kidney disease or are unable to pass urine
• Have uncontrolled diabetes with severe complications (discuss with your doctor)
