Uses and Benefits of ZIFI CV 50DT (Cefixime 50mg + Clavulanic Acid 31.25mg)
This medicine is prescribed to treat various bacterial infections in the body.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and sinusitis
- Ear, nose and throat infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Typhoid fever caused by susceptible bacteria
HOW IT WORKS
- Cefixime stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall, causing them to die
- Clavulanic Acid blocks an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that some bacteria produce to destroy cefixime
- Together they widen the range of bacteria the medicine can treat, including some resistant strains
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Viral infections like common cold, flu, or most sore throats
- Fungal infections
- Preventing infection without a doctor's advice
- Conditions not caused by bacteria
This medicine works only against bacteria and does not help with infections caused by viruses. Always complete the full course as prescribed, even if you feel better, to prevent the infection from returning or bacteria becoming resistant.
